The short version: Daily Fluctuations runs entirely on your iPhone. There's no account to create, no server it talks to, and no analytics or tracking of any kind. I never see your weight, and neither does anyone else. The rest of this page spells out the details.
What the app reads
Daily Fluctuations shows your weight trend by reading body-mass (weight) samples from Apple Health. It only does this after you explicitly grant permission, and you can review or revoke that permission at any time in the Health app under Sharing → Apps.
That Health data is used solely to draw your chart and work out your trend, right there on your device. It is never uploaded, copied off the phone, or shared with me or anyone else.
What the app writes
If you type in a weigh-in using the app's + button, that reading is saved back to Apple Health so the rest of your health data stays in one place. This only happens for entries you add yourself, and only if you've granted write permission.
What's stored on your device
The app keeps a small amount of settings in the standard iOS preferences store — for example your preferred weight unit (kg, lb, or stone) and whether you've completed the welcome screens. These are ordinary app preferences. They stay on your device, are included in your normal encrypted device/iCloud backup if you use one, and are removed if you delete the app.
What is not collected
- No accounts, sign-ups, logins, or email capture.
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or usage tracking.
- No advertising and no ad identifiers.
- No third-party SDKs collecting data in the background.
- No servers or databases run by me — there is nowhere for your data to go.
Apple Health data
Your Health data is governed by Apple's own privacy protections and never leaves the Health ecosystem on your device through this app. Daily Fluctuations does not use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing, does not sell it, and does not share it with third parties. If you'd like to understand how Apple handles Health data, see Apple's Privacy Policy.
Purchases
The app includes an optional one-time “buy me a coffee” tip. Payments are handled entirely by Apple's In-App Purchase system — the app never sees your card details, and Apple only shares standard, anonymised purchase information with me (the same aggregate sales data every developer receives). Tipping is completely optional; the app is fully functional without it.
Feedback form
If you choose to send feedback or log a support issue, the app may open a Google Form in a web view. Anything you type there is sent through Google, and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Using the form is entirely your choice, and you decide what to include in it.
Children
Daily Fluctuations is a general-audience app and is not directed at children. It doesn't knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, I'll update this page and change the date at the top. Because there's no server and no contact list, changes are simply reflected here.
